Vivid colours and untamed brush strokes form the essence of my paintings. My paintings are expressive with each piece providing a snippet of my life experience. Capturing the essence of mood, in a place or moment, is what defines my paintings. In this way, I am keen to allow the ebbs and flows of creativity to naturally unfold so that the production of my artwork is always open spontaneity. My paintings are a return to a ‘moment’ with the intent of extending time in those special moments, and even inviting the viewer to experience them. As a result, my artwork explores the relationship between ‘moments’ in time and their context to our life. I currently live and work in West Yorkshire. It was during my gap year when I combined two of my passions, cricket and art, that my career as an artist truly began. I painted Headingley Cricket Ground during a Roses match, which I then donated to my local club to raise funds. I later went on to donate a painting of Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow to Yorkshire County Cricket Club. The painting now hangs in the dressing room area at Headingley Cricket Club. I exhibit my work locally and nationally. Highlights have included La Galleria Pall Mall, Chester Arts Fair and the Menier Gallery, as well as a commissioned piece for Weir Minerals Europe Limited.
